Littlecote House Experience
45 members spent an enjoyable and educational 5 days break at Warner’s Littlecote House, Hungerford. Photographs taken during the holiday appear below. These can be expanded by clicking on them.
The Main House was built in the mid-1500s. A comprehensive guided tour gave members an insight into its history including the fact that Henry VIII courted Jane Seymour there. An ornate Roman mosaic could be seen in the grounds.
Visits were also made to Salisbury with it’s iconic cathedral where one of the 4 copies of the Magna Carta is housed. Other visits were to Marlborough, Devizes, Redfield Garden centre and a Shopping Outlet.
Swindon Steam museum was visited on the way home where many members were reminded of travelling by train in their childhood.
