Renaissance
Fortnightly, Sundays, 10am - 12 noon in Richmond
Group leader: Christopher Barclay

Leonardo died in 1519 and Raphael in 1520, while Michaelangelo was at his most creative. To mark 500 years, this new group will examine a range of cultural achievements - well beyond art - in this period. There were plenty of larger than life characters - bankers, Popes, scholars, warlords, artists, and inventors. We will read from Leonardo's notebooks, Michelangelo's sonnets, Machiavelli's political theory, Cellini's autobiography and much more. We will watch films and there will be visits to the V&A
Newcomers are welcome. Disabled access, but the toilet is upstairs. Parking is available in Bicester Road and there are several buses.
