Events

Our General Meetings are held monthly in The Well, Hospital Road, Retford DN22 7BD on the fourth Thursday between 1.30 and 3.30pm and are open to everyone. Visitors and prospective members will find a warm welcome with guest speakers and performers from all over Britain, and our members get to socialise and share Retford U3A news.
There are also social events, study days, outings and holidays.

Thu Jun 27th Andy Smart - What Ruddy Cucumber - notes on a life in journalism. This is a collection of stories and anecdotes from more than 40 years working in newspapers and broadcasting
Thu Jul 25th Bob Blatchford - “A Justice in the Arctic” This about about his trip to Northern Canada, where he shadowed a Canadian Magistrate dispensing justice to native Inuits.
Thu Aug 22nd Dr Tim Gray Of The EMICS which is a network of volunteer doctors with specialist training in pre-hospital emergency medicine who assist East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) at the scene of life threatening emergencies. EMICS doctors provide advanced specialist skills at the point of accident or injury, where they are needed most.
Thu Sep 26th Alistair Littlewood Storyteller - "Grimm Tales" which looks at the life of the Brothers Grimm and tells their (surprisingly unfamiliar) versions of Cinderella, the Frog Prince and Greedy Gretchen
Thu Oct 24th Peter Slater - Stories from a BBC Sports Reporter, meeting the rich and famous.
