NEW MEMBERS MEETING 2017
The New Members Meeting held at Holy Trinity Church Hall on 12th April 2017 went very well with 31 new members attending.
The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and the Group Leaders who got up to speak, Viv Smith, Ian Haynes and Jackie Soilleux, offered advice and encouragement to members to start their own group if they were not able to join an established one.
Jane Godfrey gave a summary of the Social Events and Wendy Edwards explained the subjects to be explored in this year’s Educational Talks as well as information about our 10th Anniversary Celebration at our July Monthly Meeting.
After the refreshments our new Chairman David Fryer-Kelsey welcomed the new members. Displays and information around the hall were provided by - Kate Sawyer (Patchwork and Tea), David Sheffield (Crib Group), Peter Abrey (Walking Group 4), Sandra Wilson (Theatre Group) and Heather Flemings, Groups' Coordinator. The new members were able to enquire about and put their names down for groups of interest. David Fryer-Kelsey closed the meeting with a question and answer session and another chance to mingle and ask questions.
