Group Leaders Day 2014

Of the 52 initial attendees to the Group Leaders Day, 6th May 2014, 43 in total were able to attend on the day.

Following a welcome and introduction by our Chairman, Pete Huntly, I was requested to be Master of Ceremonies for the day.

As the Committee were asked, last year, for more input of Group Activities across our U3A, I provided a broad-brush picture of the year’s progress.

The day included contributions from Pete Huntly, as Webmaster, David Sheffield providing an update on Social Banking, Roger Baker speaking about the Newsletter, Maureen Huntly speaking about “Talks for All” and Sheila Hobson substituting for Marian Allen, presenting the Poetry Group’s published book of poems (£2 each and available at our monthly meetings).

Our guest speaker was Susan Radford – pictured here with myself – Manager of the U3A Resource Centre who gave us a very informative and helpful presentation about the scope and depth of information available from the U3A Trust Head Office at Bromley. After a pleasant mid-morning coffee break and lunch, the 95% of completed evaluation forms clearly requested a unanimous continuation of this informative and enjoyable annual event.
