This group had their first outing in August 2011 and in a relatively short time they have established a very friendly group. They meet at Rayleigh Station on the third Thursday of each month and take a train to London. Trips generally include a guide and they have visited the Royal Naval College at Greenwich, Drury Lane Theatre, St Martin in the Fields and the National Portrait Gallery. They have also enjoyed a couple of themed walks around the City, each led by a very knowledgeable Guide. Indeed, all their guides have proved to be a very important part of the day, inspiring members with their enthusiasm for the subject and imparting endless intriguing information.
Before 2012 is over they plan, among other places, to visit Goldsmiths Hall, Royal Courts of Justice, Bank of England and Buckingham Palace. Their ventures to London are proving to be both interesting and informative but more importantly, fun.
