Group Leaders Day 2012

GROUP LEADERS DAY 2012

Rayleigh U3A’s Group Leaders Day was held at Saxon Hall on Tuesday 27th March. Fifty Group Leaders and members of the Committee attended this enjoyable and informative annual event.

The programme included a power point presentation by Webmaster, Pete Huntly about the ever changing Rayleigh U3A website. This was followed by an interactive demonstration of how Group Leaders can manage their own Group Page to include photographs, details of forthcoming meetings, events or trips.

David Carlton, Newsletter Editor explained to the audience that as from May the newsletter will be available on the Website in a password protected area but that paper copies will be available to those who need to receive it in that format.

The U3A Eastern Representative for Shared Learning Projects, Jennifer Simpson spoke about opportunities to research projects proposed by museums, libraries or by U3A members on a chosen theme i.e. a person, town, etc.

After a splendid buffet lunch various aspects of the Group Leaders Pack was discussed followed by a Q and A session.

Sue Taylor, retiring Groups Co-ordinator was thanked for her work over the last four years and presented with a basket of flowers.
