Rayleigh Grange

Games Groups

Canasta Beginners 1
Group Leader: Ann Clarke-Overy
We meet on the 3rd Wednesday 2.30-4.30.
The group meets monthly at the same venue in Rayleigh. Members of the group are of varying ability, from complete beginners, to improving, and competent. Instruction is given and new players generally pick up the basics quite quickly, learning some of the finer strategies as they go along.
It is a friendly group, who enjoy tea and cake part way through the afternoon.

The meetings take place at 2 pm on the 3rd Monday of the month.
We are a group who enjoy playing Scrabble for fun.
We use the Collins scrabble Dictionary to check words we are not sure of as well as having a list of two and three letter words that are allowed.
If you are interested in joining please email the Groups Co-ordinator

Solo Whist
Group Leader: David Lobley
I am looking to start a new card group playing solo whist.
This is a card game based on whist (you may know it as Trumps), but with the difference that you have
to predict (bid) on how many tricks you can win or you can even bid to become a loser!
It’s a fun game where mistakes are made and you can also ride your luck.

If I get enough interest, then it can run on the 2nd Monday each month,
The Rayleigh Weir Fire Station are happy to accommodate us from 11.00 – 1.00.
The 1st event will be on 11th December 2023 and I need bookings no later than 7 days beforehand.
Please contact the Group Co-ordinator, Carol Bright via the Rayleigh Grange website for more information or to join the group

Trivial Pursuits
Group Leader: Steve Barns
