Roles and Responsibilities
The Committee Roles is a description of the various roles and responsibilities which have evolved within the Ravenshead U3A and which are undertaken by its committee members. It has been accepted and approved at committee although it is presented as a working document which may be subject to change.
As with all organisations the way we operate is laid out in our Constitution. This is a very important document that helps to guide the decisions made by our Committee. All members should be aware of it's existance and should take the time to read the document. Copies will be available at our Monthly Meetings to read during coffee, these should not be taken away. If a member requires their own personal copy then they should contact our Business Secretary through the Contact page of this website.
Being a Trustee and Committee Member
Our Committee Members are the Trustees of Ravenshead U3A. There are a number of documents that Committee Members should be familiar with:
Trustee Code of Conduct
All Committee Members are covered by the U3A Trustee insurance.
The Committee meets every third Tuesday to discuss the progress being made by our U3A.
Until further notice all meetings will be on the third Tuesday each month at in the Centre at St Peter's Church
During the formative period of our U3A a number of policies have had to be formulated.
- Equal Opportunities Policy
- Advertising non-U3A events
- Advertising U3A member surveys
- Speaker Sales
- Vulnerable Adults Policy
To help members that wish to organise trips and events a set of Guidelines has been developed. These ensure that we meet all of the rules laid down by U3A. a simple BOOKING FORM is available.
