Then we had debate about our membership of the EU and politics took centre stage in our lives where it has remained.
If you are genuinely interested in the political debate, whoever you vote for, and its consequential effect on everyday life wherever you live or work, then please come and join our small discussion group for a lively afternoon's debate. Unfortunately we don't have all the answers or solutions but we can try and make sense of it all.
