Walking - Longer walks
Leader: - Fiona Turner
1st Thursday of the month
Availability: Contact Fiona via the carrier pigeon
This group plans to build up to walking between 10 and 14 miles each month. The day will usually be a Thursday. The intention is to walk locally or in London, with easy transport access, or a short drive. A picnic lunch rather than a pub lunch is suggested. Please note that participants are responsible for their own welfare and ensuring that they are physically able to take part in the activity. They should also be suitably equipped with walking boots and clothing for the weather and country footpaths.
We are now walking the pilgrimage route from St Paul's Cathedral to St Albans Cathedral. We have now reached Elstree from St Pauls, our last walk was not quite as muddy as i had feared as we walked along the Dollis River from Barnet to Hendon Wood Lane.
Our next walk in February will be from Elstree to Radlett via various footpaths and Shenley!
In March we will reach St Albans and finish with a tour of the Abbey after our walk.
