Local History 1
LOCAL HISTORY GROUP
PLEASE NOTE - I WILL BE STEPPING DOWN AS GROUP LEADER AT THE END OF THE YEAR AFTER TWELVE AND A HALF YEARS. AT THE PRESENT TIME NO-ONE HAS COME FORWARD TO TAKE OVER SO CHECK THIS PAGE LATER IN THE YEAR TO FIND OUT IF THE GROUP WILL BE CONTINUING.
The Local History Group will have outings to various historical places in North West England and also talks. We have had a variety of interesting visits eg Lancaster Castle, Little Marton Windmill, Chetham School of Music, Winter Gardens Blackpool and Morecambe, Ormskirk Town Hall to meet the Mayor, Quaker Friends Meeting House, Lancaster and Liverpool Old Dock Tour
We meet on the 2nd Wednesday in the month, most times commencing at 2 pm. I try and arrange visits to places where we are able to travel by bus, most of us using our bus pass!
It is important if you are interested in attending any of the events that you telephone or email me as there are limited numbers and most of the visits on the programme have waiting lists.
