Potters Bar

Welcome to our U3A

The Potters Bar U3A is a member of the Third Age Trust. Our aims are firstly to advance learning to the older generation who are no longer in full time employment, and secondly to provide facilities for leisure time and recreational activities with the objective of improving the conditions of life for such persons in the interest of their social welfare.

For the remainder of 2017/18 (1st May to 31st July 2018) there is no membership fee. Instead a new member will pay the fee for 2018/19 but this will cover a period of up to 15 months. This fee of only £12 covers attendance at monthly meetings, copies of the newsletter plus issues of ‘3rd Age Matters’ as well as attendance at all interest groups, although some groups may need to make a small charge to cover room hire, postage and refreshments etc. We have over sixty active groups with a total membership of circa 800. You can print off the membership form here, (pdf format).

As new data protection legislation came into force during May both our application and renewal forms have been changed to reflect your consent to us using your data. Should you have any queries regarding the new forms, please contact the Membership Secretary on 07544 263356 or at membership@pbu3a.org.uk

In addition our renewal process for the year 1st August 2018 to 31 July 2019 has now commenced and you can find the Renewal Form here, (pdf format) which you can print off. More details regarding the renewal process can be found in our summer newsletter – both printed and electronic. Please note that both forms now have 2 pages, so if possible please print them double sided to save paper.

Our monthly meetings are held in the Wyllyotts Centre (usually) on the second Monday of the month (except August). If you are interested in joining us or just wish to know more about our U3A then either come to the next meeting and ask to speak to a committee member, there are always a great number of people milling about but we are all friendly and want you to join us; or use the contact email link; a nominal £1.00 charge is made to visitors attending the monthly meeting (2 visits only).
