2017/11 - Parc Slip

We had a beautiful sunny and frosty morning for our trip to Parc Slip. Unfortunately the birds were reluctant to show themselves. We discussed whether the most visible water bird was a shoveler or a little grebe (dabchick). The wide beak favoured a shoveler but the consensus was that it was a little grebe because of the small round fluffy body. Our lack of expertise was evident!

We did manage to get a good view of a wren as it scuttled along a fence and also saw a huge buzzard, gold finches and a small flock of long-tailed tits seemed to follow us as we walked beside the stream. So in spite of the paucity of bird life we all enjoyed the walk.
