Voice North

Newcastle University is a world leader in research into ageing, its causes, and its social and health consequences.
Through the Newcastle Initiative on Changing Age the university has created a fusion of medical science research and social concern to tackle the challenges and opportunities ageing is generating for humankind.
Influencing policy and changing attitudes to older people is an important part of the university’s work into ageing and VOICE North is one of two projects which aim to capture the views and experience of older people which can be used to shape services to better suit their needs.
Any one of any age can take part and volunteers can be involved in a range of ways.
For example;
• Respond to questionnaires.
• Participate in focus groups and workshops.
• Assist in research, for example by interviewing others, or by evaluating the usefulness of new enabling and assistive technologies.
• Act as a 'lay member' of a research project group.
• Attend a conference or event to share your views and experience.

You can find out more and apply for membership either by visiting the VOICE North website: www.ncl.ac.uk/voicenorth, OR by clicking the second "Voice North" link at the bottom of the Sidebar on the Region page.
