Walking Netball

We continue to meet every other Wednesday at Plymstock School Sports Hall. Our numbers fluctuate, but all who play have a good time; or so they say. Recently we have had a couple of new members join us, which is great BUT WE STILL NEED MORE. It would be wonderful if some more of the Plymstock u3a group would at least give us a try. Our group continues to run, with the members who attend thoroughly enjoying our often adapted game due to numbers.

I recently joined a Zoom meeting hosted by the u3a National Walking Netball Organiser, where there were a number of other u3a netball group leaders. It made me realise how lucky we are to have the use of Plymstock Sports Hall at half the price some groups are having to pay, plus the use of posts and court. Believe it or not there are groups having had to buy all their own equipment, including posts and then only be able to find small village halls to play in, which as they pointed out is rather hazardous at times, plus very restricting.

So come on Plymstock Members think hard about joining us on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 18:00hrs and enjoy the cheap, ideal facilities we have at our disposal.

I repeat from my previous appeals that all you need to be able to do is WALK, so that only excludes a few of our members. A couple of people have come along, not terribly agile, but over time their mobility has visibly improved, so it is worth a try.
