Greetings Antiques group.
Unfortunately due to restrictions we are unable to meet just yet but will get in touch with you when we can. Meanwhile, I have had very mixed feelings about "The Box" but was very pleasantly surprised when I had a preview last Friday September 25th. It is much better than I expected with nearly all the old exhibits there with easy to use touch screen details. Spent three hours and didn't see it all so going again this week. Advanced booking required.
I have just come across an antique shop in an unlikely location. In Embankment Road, after passing the Rowing Club, turn left into the Nature Reserve. The shop (you could say shack) is in the adjoining storage unit yard. I didn't have time to investigate and it may be just junk, but intend to investigate.
In 'more normal times' at our monthly meetings most members bring along an item that we can examine and discuss. We see a wide range of antiques, including coins, china, books, jewellery, fossils and other collectibles. All sorts from family heirlooms to flea market finds.
When we can meet again you are most welcome to come along and see if you find it interesting, we would love to have some new members to come and join us!
