Horology

Horology is the art and science of the measurement of time.

The group looks at all aspects of horology. This includes the historical, social as well as the technical aspects.

This will include any definition of time keeping that you can think of.
For example,

  • mechanical devices
  • solar devices (sundials, etc.)
  • social time
  • astronomical time
  • geological time
  • biological clocks
  • history of the development of horology
  • important people

At the meeting, we agree on a topic for the next meeting. On a voluntary basis, members research some aspect of the topic and do a short presentation.

The group meets on the third Wednesday each month at 2.30pm.

The meetings are at my house at Lincoln Ave., N14 7LJ. 184 bus route or plenty of free parking.

I have a device for presentations on my TV. This includes internet items, PowerPoint, YouTube, etc.
