SLP stands for Shared Learning Project
SLPs usually involve a team of U3A members, often from different U3As, exploring a specific topic of interest proposed by a U3A or by an institution such as a museum, art gallery, stately home or library.
Most SLPs last 3 months, with regular meetings between U3A members and, if appropriate, a member of staff of the host institution. They usually conclude with a presentation, the production of a report and possibly a DVD, map, website, database or other useful resource.
