Welcome to the web site of Pewsey Vale U3A.
The historic village of Pewsey nestles quietly in the heart of the beautiful Vale of Pewsey. Beneath wide open skies the ancient rolling landscape of the Vale and the surrounding Wiltshire countryside are home to some of Britain's most ancient and iconic monuments.
White Horses of various age trot silently across the chalky hills, Crop Circles and UFO's pop up all over the place and Pewsey U3A's Walking Group are seen in the most unlikely spots.
In addition to individual group activities we enjoy regular social meetings every other month with a wide range of talks and activities, followed by the all important 'Tea, Cake and Natter'. Please see the Events page for more details.
Pewsey Vale U3A was started in July 2008 and now has a substantial number of members enjoying many varied groups and activities in and around the village. We hope this site will provide you with enough information to help you. Please do feel free to contact the committee, using the Committee tab at the top of the page, for any further details.
The University of the Third Age is a national organisation for people who are retired or semi-retired and no longer in full time employment.
It provides creative, educational and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment.
Local U3As throughout the UK organise and provide interest groups in accordance with the wishes of their membership, drawing on the skills of members, sharing knowledge and experience to develop abilities by learning from each other.
Activities cover a diverse and eclectic range of subjects in such fields as art, languages, music, history, life sciences, philosophy, crafts, photography and walking. No qualifications are needed or gained and none are given. Learning is viewed as a pleasure and a fun way to keep active mentally, physically and socially.
All you need to join is an interest and enthusiasm as this video demonstrates.
