Wine Tasting & Appreciation
About the group:-
The Wine Tasting and Appreciation Group is an informal group who meet on a monthly basis. Our aim is to increase our knowledge of different wines and grape varieties.
Every month we have a theme for our choice of wines, which could be anything from where they were produced, to where they were bought, what kind of grapes went into them, or who recommended them. Last month Gerald and Wendy Tarver followed suggestions from The Times Jane MacQuitty’s page for wines within our price bracket. And excellent suggestions they were too: most of us found most of the wines very pleasant indeed.
Prior to that, Julian and Lynn Mumford brought us back their choice of wines from the Loire region. Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed them. It would have been difficult to get such a broad selection of Loire wines here in the UK and certainly not at the prices Julian and Lynn were able to buy them for at the chateau.
We have plenty more interesting and varied tastings coming up.
The group meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7pm at the Pewsey Heritage Centre.
