8th May 2017, General Meeting "The incredible magician Chung Ling Soo" by John Field
This talk is about an incredible magician, who few people have ever heard of, but has the dubious honour of being one of the few people to be shot and killed on stage. It is a rags to riches story, of failed marriages and a 20 year deception of the public. John is a Master Magician.

10th April 2107, General Meeting "Workings of the United Nations" by Peter Willetts at 2.30pm in the Community Centre.
Peter studied the UN as a student in 1963, following it on with a visit to Headquarters in Geneva. Peter was a lecturer at City University, London and stayed for 35 years. He later became a lecturer in International Relations. When he stopped teaching he became Emeritus Professor of Global Politics at City, choosing this title to show his commitment to studying how Governments relate to non-governmental organisations.. He has edited and written 6 books with much to say about the UN. Peter feels the title might be better with “When can the United Nations make a difference?”

4th April 2017, Outing Arts and Heritage visit to National Trust property "Mottisfont" to see the exhibition of work by Rex Whistler.

1230 hrs for a tour of the plant followed by a question and answer session with the Veolia people who run the system.
