South Bank Group
The South Bank Group visits arts events on the South Bank of the River Thames in London. The events are held at the Southbank Centre (i.e. Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room, the latter two being re-opened from 2018 after their recent refurbishment).
An important feature about the Group, which is kept small in number, is that it provides a convenient arrangement for members to enjoy a train journey to London Waterloo Station which is only a short walk from the venue on the South Bank. Single members appreciate the opportunity to have company on their visits, particularly on return journeys that can be later in the evening. Travel by alternative means to those suggested by the Convenor can always be chosen by members to suit their own circumstances.
The Group expects no level of expertise, only a love of music and perhaps a willingness to make more frequent visits and to explore new avenues in live performances.
