Our group currently consists of members who all love reading poetry out loud. The topics we choose are wide and various and result in some interesting and at times very animated discussions.
We take it in turns to meet in each others' homes once a month, on the second or third Friday at 10 am, and meetings usually last about two hours. We now have vacancies for new members.
Our last few topics have reflected the time of year, eg. December, Winter, Valentine's, Spring, Easter.
Poets chosen range from ancient Greece and Rome, the medieval, Renaissance and Enlightenment periods through to the modern day.
Knowledge of poetry theory is absolutely not necessary! Enjoying the language, and how it is interpreted and sounds, is our aim.
