The u3a Country Walking group started in October 2012 and has had one walk almost every month. The group has proved popular with generally 10 to 15 walkers each month. This group is intended for those who like countryside walks of about 8 miles. A pub or café stop is incorporated roughly half way. Walks are generally circular but public transport may be used to make some linear walks.
===== UPDATE =====
While we could not walk as a group routes have been distributed with map and some notes for members to do in their "bubbles".
One we did as a group last August:
The route started near Borden (not Bordon) and circled the Hammer Pond at Chithurst using public and permissive paths. Stood on the wall of the early Iron Age fort.
Lunch was taken at Milland Community Shop, our own sandwiches and drinks bought at the shop. Returning across the farmland to Trotton Marsh then finishing, up through Rondle Wood to the cars.
We did some Himalayan Balsam pulling en-route.
I had circulated a risk assessment beforehand. It worked well, and everyone was on their best behaviour – as one would expect of Petersfield u3a members
