Book Circles (4 Groups)
We currently have four Book Circles – a friendly and informal way of sharing a love of reading. Meetings are held in members’ homes, ensuring each group is small with around eight people. This makes for ease of discussion but once members settle in a group, vacancies rarely occur.
Each group is different reflecting the interests and tastes of its members. Typically they will select a book to read from the County Library`s special list (which supplies up to 10 copies) and have a month to read it. The book is then reviewed and discussed, often at length, at the next meeting. Another group will agree a theme or topic and the members bring examples to review and discuss. The sessions are usually rounded off with tea and biscuits, and sometimes cake!
