French A Level Conversation
We are a friendly group of 7 who meet each Thursday morning for two hours in each other’s houses. We aim to speak French for the whole lesson and think we are at A level standard, although we have some members who are more proficient and who are able to converse fluently already, but they benefit from the conversation and want to be able to extend their knowledge of vocabulary and grammar.
We all subscribe to ‘Rendez-Vous’ magazine which contains interesting articles and exercises for us to read and complete together. We also read and listen to the news in French and discuss various topical articles.
We are very lucky to have just acquired the help of a retired French Tutor who has agreed to come once a month to chat to us and also to give us some homework to help us with our written skills. She is a delightful lady and we are thoroughly enjoying her sessions. We also try and read a novel together and sometimes translate passages during the class. We have already read No et Moi by Delphine de Vigan and are currently reading Dans le Café de la jeunesse perdue by Patrick Modiano.
We do have to restrict the numbers but if you think you would be interested in joining us we would be very happy to invite you for a session to see if the level is right for you and we could then put you on a waiting list. Please contact me using the message icon on this page.
