Book Circle 6
Book Circle 6
This group has been running for six years and still has a core of its original members. We meet on the second Thursday afternoon of the month. We are limited to eight members because we take it in turns to host the meetings in our homes and this is the maximum which can be accommodated. New enquires are always welcomed from members to fill any spaces, however we are currently full.
We are all avid readers and find being part of a group makes our reading more focused and discussions are lively and fun. Some of us have found ourselves persisting with books we would normally not finish and finally enjoying them. It is always interesting and sometimes enlightening to hear very differing opinions.
This last year we have experimented with asking each member to suggest a title and then lead the meeting discussing the book they have chosen. We have been careful that the titles are available on Kindle or cheap second-hand purchase on-line in case they cannot be ordered from the library. We may revert to ordering them from the Library Service next year. We have recently revisited some classics but our next title is 'Fatherland' by Richard Harris.
