With a good forecast and the longer daylight hours available to explore areas less frequented, Beinn Trilleachan was the goal for the day. This Corbett sits on its own at the end of the Glen Etive road, right in the heart of the Glen Coe and Argyll hills. In the day’s excellent visibility, the 360 degree views were stunning. (As was the drop on the south side of the hill.) Although the route is only 9.54 km, it is a demanding 9.54 km with steep ascents/descents of between 44% and 47% gradient, overall ascent climbed being 1075 m or 3527 feet equivalent to more than a Munro.
The return journey, 2½ hours each way, was broken at The Green Welly for a pit-stop and general discussion. An excellent summer outing.
