2018-10a Pentland Hills Walk
Start Point 187 m (614 feet), Highest Point 550 m (1805 feet), Distance 11.6 km (7.21 miles), Total Ascent 717 meters (2352 feet), Time taken 3hrs 35m
7 members departed from Broxden at 8am. The original route was planned for Ardtainaig but changed to the Pentland Hills due to a poor forecast in the West. The start was from Flotterstone car park taking a westerly path to Carnethy Hill (573m) via Turnhouse Hill. Strong gusting winds on the tops made standing upright a challenge so we descended to the col below Scald Law and on down to Loganlea Reservoir. We finally returned by road to the car park running beside Logan burn and Glencorse reservoir.
Well earned refreshments were taken at the conveniently situated Flotterstone Inn
