Join us

Anyone who lives in the local area and is no longer in full time employment or raising a family is welcome to join our u3a. We are very much an active u3a, with monthly events, regular newsletters (see our newsletter archive), an active Facebook group and many interest groups.

Benefits of Membership

  • Attend our Monthly Meeting to hear interesting talks from our list of speakers (currently via Zoom)
  • Join our friendly and lively Interest Groups - develop old or new interests and make new friends
  • Receive our own monthly newsletter
  • Receive the 'Third Age Matters' national magazine
  • Access a wealth of information and attend online courses run by the u3a Office
  • National newsletters by email (sign up to receive this here)
  • Receive discounts from local shops.......

Membership Classes - Our 12 month membership year starts on 1st March and the fee you pay initially will depend on when in the year you join - see here for our fee structure. A sizeable portion of the membership fee is paid directly to the Third Age Trust and that is irrespective of when in the year you join. There are several membership classes, each with different fees and benefits.

Full Membership - Our full membership class can be either Single or Joint.
Single - the standard class of membership.
Joint - available for two members at the same address who are classed as partners for tax purposes. A reduced fee is charged because a household with joint members will receive only one copy of the national magazine (Third Age Matters) and, if you have no email facility, our own newsletter.

Associate Membership - Associate members are full members of another u3a and therefore have already paid the Third Age Trust Membership Fee and to receive the Third Age Matters magazine. This allows us to reduce the fee paid by you to Pershore & District u3a. To qualify for Associate Membership, proof of membership of another u3a is required.

Cotswold Link Membership - Pershore & District u3a is a member of the Cotswold Link, giving the benefit of reciprocal membership, where members of other Cotswold Link u3as can join one Pershore & District u3a interest group (space permitting), without having to pay a membership fee to our u3a. Of course, a Cotswold Link member will have to pay any fees charged by the interest group they want to join. To take advantage of this benefit, Cotswold Link members need to fill in a Pershore & District u3a membership form and have their details entered on our Beacon database, so that we can monitor and control the access of members and communicate with them.

If you want to join Pershore & District u3a, click on the links at the right of the page to find out more about the membership fees and download a Membership Form.
