French Conversation

Group contact: Devi Marshall

During 2019 we have enjoyed sharing in the French language: interests, family news, places visited, French films viewed and other activities. We also keep up our knowledge of France, it’s culture and traditions from newspapers, TV and articles on line – ‘salinnefrenchfocus’ being a good source. We learnt that ‘Faire le pont’ means ‘to take a long weekend’, a new addition to our vocabulary.
On November 5th we had fun translating a French account of Guy Fawkes night. Grammar and vocabulary play a part but above all French conversation.

The group has 9 members and we meet in each other’s houses. This is really the maximum number, so everyone has a chance to speak and improve.
