Family History

Please note Family history is now meeting in the Community Centre in Room 1 on the ground floor. This is opposite the library doors.

For our next meeting on 3rd November 10 to 12, Caroline is very kindly bringing the u3a projector and laptop so that we can view another piece from Youtube. We are due to see another episode of the television series about workhouses - hopefully we haven't had enough of workhouses after yesterday's excellent talk! (If any-one has a suggestion for a Youtube piece which might be different please let me know.)

Looking ahead to next year - I have found some documents relating to a very confusing case going back to my professional genealogist days. I think you will be interested to see them, probably at our January meeting. Whilst we solved the main riddle there were still a couple of smaller questions which remained unanswered. If any-one else has any interesting documents they would like to share with us there is a while to dig them out!.

October 6th 10 to 12 noon.
Sue Taylor will be coming along to talk to us about Patcham and All Saints Church. She has invited questions - if you have anything you would like to ask or for her to talk about please let me know - as soon as possible, please and I will pass them on.

All welcome to join the group, coordinated by Philip. To contact him, click on the email on the right.

All necessary antibac will be in place.

To anyone new whom would like to come along please bring your own mug……tea coffee and biscuits will be provided

Our meeting payments will be increased to £2 per meeting to cover costs.

For the less experienced there is a wealth of knowledge within the group which we are all happy to share.

Members range from just starting to the more experienced covering all aspects of family and social history.

We work in a way that gives all an opportunity to speak either by a member telling us some interesting information they have discovered about their family or just to ask for help.

We are at all stages of Family History research from very new to well informed. We are a welcoming friendly and helpful group. Any Patcham member is always welcome to drop in for a taster visit.
