History Matters
Members of the History Matters group firmly believe that HIstory does matter . We choose a topic that interests us then take it in turns to give informal presentations on any aspect of that theme. Over the last few years the group has looked at the history of various countries, key historic figures , a year of historic significance, and mistresses, to name but a few. We look at all aspects of history - political, economic and social. As we don’t restrict ourselves to a period or a geographic area, there is plenty of scope for members to pursue their own interests and convey their knowledge to the group.
We usually meet on the last Monday afternoon of the month at 2 p.m. for a couple of hours. Members of the group take it in turns to host at their home. Usually there are two talks, with a refreshment break between them.
