Walking - WIGS

The Wigs walking group comprises about 50 people out of which the average turnout for fortnightly walks is about 15-20. Our main aim is to have fun and keep healthy. We usually meet at a pub, pre-order and return for lunch. Healthy options usually available! The group members share in the organisation of walks of approximately 4-5 miles in length. A group calendar is updated and circulated on a regular basis. Consideration is made of the number of stiles and possible cattle found on route. The group is led by the walk organiser and back marked. First Aid equipment and emergency contact numbers are taken on each walk. Dogs are not allowed due to possible problems with other animals during the walk. Walkers follow advice found in the Highway Code.
