Sad news.

I am sure on hearing of todays sad news of the death of His Royal Highness, Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh, the thoughts, prayers and sympathy of Oswestry U3A members, will be with her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth and the Royal family. A long life of duty and support sadly now at an end, but someone who has been within most of our lives for a long time. Our condolences.

CORONOVIRUS - Unfortunately due to the current conditions and restrictions the U3A Tuesday meetings have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO MEMBERS SUBSCRIPTIONS

Membership Application, Annual Renewal and Gift Aid procedures.

Application for Membership in Oswestry U3A should be made using the Membership Application form. This should be returned, with the appropriate subscription, (made by cheque, payable to Oswestry U3A) to the Membership Secretary, who will update the membership database, assign a membership number and issue a membership card. The Member keeps this number as long as they are members of Oswestry U3A. The form is completed once (with the application).

Renewal of Membership is by payment of the current years' subscription. Subscription Year starts 01 December. The appropriate subscription (made by cheque, payable to Oswestry U3A) should be sent to the Membership Secretary. Upon receipt, the Membership Secretary will issue a membership card, valid for the current year. For renewing Members, a membership form is not required. Members who do not renew may be removed from the database.

THE DATE FOR RECEIPT OF RENEWAL SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR THE CURRENT YEAR HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 28th FEBRUARY 2021, ANY EXISTING MEMBERS WHO HAVE NOT RENEWED BY THIS DATE WILL BE REMOVED FROM OUR DATABASE AND NO LONGER RECEIVE NEWSLETTERS OR EMAIL UPDATES FROM OSWESTRY U3A.

Gift Aid is a concession granted by HM Revenue and Customs. Registered charities may reclaim the income tax that their members have paid on their subscriptions. This income is used to support the activities of the charity. Oswestry U3A is such a charity. There is no cost to the donating Member, but Oswestry U3A must be authorised to make the claim. The authorisation is made by the donor completing the Gift Aid form and returning it to the Membership Secretary. No further action is required of the donor. The authorisation remains in force as long as the donor is a member of Oswestry U3A. Donors can withdraw from Gift Aid at any time, by notifying the Membership Secretary. Members who do not pay income tax should not complete the Gift Aid form."
