Orpington

Events and Outings

Below are the details of future Monthly Meetings and other Group Events.

The Monthly Meetings are normally held on the third Monday of each month from 2.00 to 4.00pm at the Crofton Halls, Station Road, Orpington. This gives U3A members and others the opportunity to meet with committee members and group leaders. Potential new members are welcome to attend one of these meetings. The day following the Monthly Meeting is an open invitation to the new members for an informal coffee morning at BR6 Bakehouse in The Walnuts, Orpington, from 10.00am.

For more details of the Talks and Speakers see below.

18 November: David Allen will speak to us on "The Weird and Wonderful World of the Law"
Great fun and plenty of big laughs. A hugely enjoyable romp through the legal world: drawing on over 25 years as a locum solicitor travelling around the country, encountering raging judges, dotty clients and Weird cases. Join David on a sideways journey through bizarre true-life oddities, daft old laws still in place and political correctness gone raving mad.

16 December: Dr Alan Wise will speak to us on "Your Journey to Good Health and Happiness"
Talks open up your mind. A new way of thinking about life. Alan has articles featured on radio and TV and many written articles on mental health issues.

20 January: Bromley Road Safety Officer April French. Her subject is "Bromley - Then and Now" with a focus on Road Safety.
She will look at what we can do to keep ourselves safer as drivers, passengers and pedestrians. She will also touch on some of the more recent changes to the law.
