MOTOS (Members on Their Own)

Many members of U3A live alone and find that social activities can become restricted .This group intends to resolve that.We have adopted a wide definition of "on their own".It includes singles, divorced and separated people widows and widowers but also those whose spouse or partner cannot accompany them. So far we have enjoyed walks followed by a pub lunch, ABBA tribute night, afternoon teas and concerts at the Bridgewater Hall.Members have also enjoyed a trip to see Concorde at Manchester airport where we learnt many interesting facts including that Concorde is registered for weddings! An intrepid bunch travelled to Bruges where we were rewarded with a beautiful autumn day to enjoy this most beautiful medieval town. We have enjoyed several other short breaks - London, the North East and Paris. Come and join us and tell us what you would like to do. Suggestions so far include more walks and pub lunches, day trips, weekends away, evening meals out, concerts, social evenings, holidays and even trips to Latics away matches.
