Creative Writing
The group provides an opportunity for members to develop writing skills in a relaxed and friendly environment. We create short stories in a wide range of genres, poetry, monologues and memoires.
We usually begin by reading and discussing any writing that has been brought in and then, after a short break, move on to exploring themes through a series of short exercises. There is usually a homework task set, but it is optional!
Current members range from experienced writers to beginners, and all contribute to the group by offering positive advice.
Established members are invited to facilitate the group and set exercises on a rota, but this is optional.
We meet twice a month, Mondays 10.00am until 12 noon at Lees Library, Oldham
You are most welcome to come along for a taster session, but please contact me beforehand for dates and introduction.
If you would like to help start up another group meeting at Fitton hill library on 3rd Tuesdays in the afternoon, please contact me
