Joseph Pilates created the Pilates system in the early 20th century. Over the years the exercises have been modified but the fundamental ideas of Joseph Pilates remain: Strengthening the core muscles to protect the spine / Toning muscles without creating bulk and corrective posture and alignment and increasing flexibility .
Our standing warm-up focuses on posture, alignment and balance. The matwork that follows focuses on core strength, coordination, flexibility and muscle tone. All the exercises can be modified and adapted to accommodate injuries.
