Ladies Barbershop

Group Contact: Bob Jury

We learn and sing songs in the unique and exhilarating style known as ‘Barbershop’. Totally unaccompanied, and in 4-part harmony throughout, the songs are often well-known and with relatively easy to sing melody lines. It can be challenging but very satisfying and enjoyable.

Ladies of all skill levels join us, the only requirement is to be able to sing in tune. You don’t need to be able to read music as we not only teach you what to sing and how to sing it at the rehearsals, but you can also download teach-tracks from the website to practise your own part at your leisure – at home, in the car, out jogging...

We are a friendly group, of different musical backgrounds and abilities, and have been going for over seven years now. We currently have ten members and would welcome anyone who would like to come along to a couple of free ‘taster’ sessions, to see first hand what we do and how we do it, and hopefully consider joining us!

They say that the key to feeling young is to do these three things: keep your mind agile, keep your body active, and stay socially active. And you can do all three at once singing Barbershop!
