Getting the best out of your Computer
The purpose of the group is to help you understand and get the best use of your computer, laptop, tablet, or pad.
As this is a new venture for Odiham U3A the initial sessions will help identify what skills the group already have, and the topics the group would like to explore. I would then put together a list of topics for the future sessions.
If you are interested in joining the group. The only requirements would be
- an interest in the subject
- a willingness to take part in the group,
- having a device to work on (this can be a shared device with another member).
As the group had only just got started when we went into lockdown, I think the best way forward is to start afresh. I think the meetings for the rest of this year will need to be on Zoom and we can review the situation for next year. I propose we meet once a month on the 3rd Tuesday at 10 am, as it is on Zoom there is no venue. The dates are shown below.
For the first meeting I would like to explore the meaning of IT (Information Technology), and have set a title – “How to become tech savvy seniors”. I will send out some things to look at prior to the meeting together with instructions on joining the meeting. As Zoom limits the free use to 40 min sessions, I will set it up as two 40 min sessions with short break in between.
If you have friends who might be interested in any of this, they are welcome to attend.
