Group Leader: Nikki Baker
|Day of the week:||1st Thursday Monthly|
|Times:||10 - 11am|
New members will need to purchase a recorder and book.
The last time most of us played the recorder, was many years ago when we were at school. Who would have thought we would enjoy re-learning this skill and remembering how to read music? The aim of the group is to enjoy playing music with other like-minded people, as well as improving our musical skills. You would be pleasantly surprised at the sound adult recorder players can make! To join in with our group, it would be helpful to be able to play a little bit on either a descant, treble or tenor and read music. Anyone who cannot play at all and would like to, don’t be put off! We have only been going since January so are still at a very basic level. At the moment, we all play the descant recorder but some of us hope to progress to the tenor or treble in time.
While we have been in lockdown, we have been playing on Zoom once a fortnight.
“Focuses the mind”
