We are a small and very friendly branch, with a wide variety of activities for you to get involved in. New Members will experience a warm welcome and are able to come to a session or two before deciding to become a member.
Because our group of 60 people is relatively small, none of our activities is over-subscribed, so you will never have to go onto a waiting list to join one of our groups.
Currently, our special interest groups range from art/crafts, music appreciation and creative writing to film/theatre, walking and visits to places of historic and current interest. The dates and times of each of these are set out in a printed programme issued to members every two months enabling them to plan ahead. In addition, a weekly email is sent out with any further details or changes to the week ahead.
As well as our full programme of special interest group meetings, we hold a monthly General Meeting on the third Wednesday of each month, where members can enjoy either an outside speaker or a quiz/raffle for charitable causes or our own fund-raising. At these general meetings, everyone can have a say/make suggestions about Norwood U3A's activities.
We hold most of our meetings in the upstairs function room at:-
SLT (The South London Theatre), Old Fire Station, 2A Norwood High St, West Norwood, London SE27 9NS
This can be reached fairly easily for most people on bus routes 2,68 196,315,322,432, 468, 690.
