Durham University

There are loads of lectures and seminars this term at Durham in the Institute of Advanced Study (IAS):

In addition it is worth searching the main webpage for durham.ac.uk and look for events. Most of the individual academic departments have their own lecture and seminar series.

Sunderland University

As usual, there are a number of lectures and events advertised on the Sunderland website, but it seems that most are aimed at students and academics. I cannot see anything that is open to the general public apart from a celebration of the Lunar New Year on 20th January.
