Real Ale Appreciation Group
Northumbria Region U3A Real Appreciation Group
We normally meet every two weeks on a Thursday, but sometimes not. We choose when and where to meet during the previous meeting. Choice of venue is based on personal recommendation, with food availability and the variety of real ales on tap a major determinant; Architectural merit and historic association also considered. We try to pick meeting places in various parts of the region, with the proximity of public transport a major factor.
Convivial conversation usually takes place, sometimes erudite but generally light-hearted.
There are people from a range of local U3As in the region who attend.
It is a must for all U3A Real Ale lovers. No booking necessary, just turn up. Be assured you will be made to feel most welcome! If you would like any more information please contact Nigel Collins on Newcastle 421 8933.
Our next outing will be on 27th September starting at 12 noon to Whitley Bay, beginning at a pub called ‘The Fire Station’ 18 York Road, Whitley Bay followed by two nice craft/real ale bars.
The following meeting will be on 11th October at 12 noon to Newcastle starting at Lady Grey’s, 20 Shakespeare Street, Newcastle, NE1 6AQ..
