Real Ale Appreciation Group
Northumbria Region U3A Real Appreciation Group
We normally meet every two weeks on a Thursday. We choose when and where to meet during the previous meeting. Choice of venue is based on personal recommendation, with food availability and the variety of real ales on tap a major determinant; Architectural merit and historic association also considered. We try to pick meeting places in various parts of the region, with the proximity of public transport a major factor.
Convivial conversation usually takes place, sometimes erudite but generally light-hearted.
There are people from a range of local U3As in the region who attend.
It is a must for all U3A Real Ale lovers. No booking necessary, just turn up. Be assured you will be made to feel most welcome! If you would like any more information please contact Nigel Collins on Newcastle 421 8933.
Our next meeting is in Corbridge on Thursday 20th June starting at 12 Noon beginning at the Black Bull Pub, Middle Street, Corbridge NE45 5AT.
The meeting after is a day trip to York on 4th July. Most of us going will be using the Transpennine Express that leaves Newcastle at 10.18 (and calls at Chester le Street 10.27 and Durham 10.34) arriving in York at 11.20. For the train back we will probably use the one that leaves York at 16.19. Our first pint will be in The York Tap which is within in the station. For any late arrivals we will be there until about 12.
