Psychology is defined in the dictionary as, “the science of nature, functions and phenomena of the human mind”. The definition may seem somewhat lofty in its description of psychology as this is a fascinating subject that can be studied for a lifetime and still prove a most interesting and stimulating topic that always has something new to offer. The group will initially aim to look at some of the major theories and research studies from psychology and to view/discuss them in relation to everyday life and society. The leader will be a facilitator, allowing group members to set their own agenda in terms of how they wish to approach this fascinating field of study. Understanding the psyche can change our perspective of the world and the people around us and can also reveal how nature and nurture have moulded us into the person we see in the mirror.
