Newquay U3A Zoom General Meeting 10.30am Tuesday 12th January 2021

Item:
1. Crocheted Poppies required for next November inspired by Callington Church.

2. Presentation by Caroline Birkby – Cornwall Air Ambulance – Your Charity. All expressed their thanks to Caroline for a very interesting presentation.

3. Previous Minutes:
• The minutes of the SGM on 12th December have been distributed and were accepted by the majority and signed off.
• The SGM decisions were ratified.

4. Chairman’s Report
• Two members of the Committee ran a quiz last month which was very successful. Quiz to be arranged for 2pm on Monday 25th January. Zoom details to be circulated.
• As a committee we are meeting monthly to re-evaluate policies and procedures and consider what the National office wants us to consider. We look forward to a time we can resurrect the normal u3a.
• With Covid, we are at the most dangerous point but also that which brings the most hope. One of the meeting members have been vaccinated with the first and second dose. JW would be disappointed if we cannot get some activities up and running this year.

5. Secretary’s Report
• u3a Diaries have been purchased and distributed.
• Clauses for holding virtual or hybrid AGM’s and GM’s included in recent draft of our constitution. To be presented to membership at a further GM.
• Further Policies and Procedures being updated currently.

6. Group Leaders Announcements
• Creative Writing Group to start holding monthly Zoom meetings from next week.

7. Date and Time of next General Meeting

• 9th February 10.30am via Zoom. Same Zoom meeting details as for this meeting.
