CAMERA GROUP

SPECIAL NOTICE 16TH MARCH 2020

In the interests of the members and based on current advice re Covid 19, it is with regret that the Executive Committee of Newmarket U3A has decided to suspend all meetings, activities and events until further notice. The situation will be reviewed mid-June. Please keep an eye on NOTICES on the NEWS page.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you are no doubt aware the meetings of the camera group are suspended until further notice, due to the coronavirus. I will endeavour to keep our page refreshed until we have better news when our meetings will restart.

Our exhibition at Newmarket Library is now finished, as the Library was closed on Friday 20 March 2020.

Both our field trip to Lavenham and the afternoon tea at Simpson’s, Fordham are cancelled at present. We hope to reschedule the afternoon tea for the autumn.

If you are viewing this page for the first time new members are still able to join the Newmarket U3A in the normal manner. During this difficult time, you will then be all set to attend when meetings commence again (see Links page, Membership form).

New members are always welcome to the Camera Group, no specialist photographic knowledge or a fancy camera required! All that is needed is the desire to enjoy your photography and make friends. Tea/coffee is included free at our meetings.

The aim of the group is to share members’ photographs and promote improved photography through discussion.

.

The joint winners in March were Angela Green, Ada and Gordon Duthie, Mala Maéka. The subject was: Cats, see photos on this page.

Regret I think it is going to be difficult to get out to take photos, (not an essential, due to social distancing). If you have a garden you could study the spring flowers, shrubs and insects that will be springing into life in the next few weeks. Close-up shots are good, not too much in the frame. Alternatively you could try some table top still life indoors.

There is no meeting on Monday 6 April 2020.

Normally we meet at Tesco Community Room on the first Monday of the month at 2.30pm. We have a very good attendance generally of about 16 to 18 members.
