The unusual circumstances caused by the COVID-19 restrictions means U3As may need to go outside their normal constitutional arrangements for holding an A.G.M. Your Executive Committee decided at a meeting held on 19 April 2021 to proceed with the A.G.M. for 2021 on a purely ‘postal/email’ basis as we did last year.

This is formal notice therefore that the Newmarket University of the Third Age A.G.M. will be held on 26th July 2021 at 2.30pm via Zoom. Members may attend as observers only. If you wish to observe via Zoom please register your interest before that date with the Secretary, Joanne Garner, Newmarket U3A, 26 Mill Hill, Newmarket, CB8 0JB. Email:

The papers for the A.G.M. are being sent to you by email, or by post where no email address is available, on or before 1st July 2021. All documents will also be available on the Newmarket U3A website under the AGM button.

All reports which would normally be presented face-to-face at an A.G.M., and are necessary for informed voting, will take the form of written reports and all the documents will be available also on the website. Group Co-ordinator reports will be published on the website and in a future E-NEWS.

Timeline of Events

1st June 2021 Notice of the A.G.M. to be held on 26th July 2021
by 14th June 2021 Please complete the Nomination form for the executive committee - via the link in your email or on the website AGM page or return the completed paper form by post to the Secretary in the S.A.E. if you have been sent a paper copy.
1st July 2021 Voting papers will be sent to you with voting information by email or by post for return on or before 12th July 2021
by 12th July 2021 Please submit your voting papers to the Secretary by email, or via the website contact page, or by post.
26th July 2021 A.G.M. when results of voting will be announced.
